Aion Magazine – download it now for free

As long time readers of this blog will know, the reason we’ve been playing Aion so much and posting about what we found out is that we’ve been working on a digital magazine for NCsoft, and I’m pleased to say that it’s now available. Like all the GamerZines magazines, it’s a free download, so all you need is Adobe Reader.
It’s pretty big, more than we’d originally intended, but we got so caught up in the game, we couldn’t stop writing, so it’s a twenty page magazine dedicated entirely to Aion, which is hopefully something you’ll all enjoy. Download the Aion magazine here. (continue reading…)
The Stigma system

Aion prides itself with vast customization over each player’s avatar. From the huge amount of choice and tweaking in the character creation menu to dying your clothes. Of course those are aesthetic based and do not change the abilities of your character. So how can two players of the same class truly be different? Cue in the Stigma system.
The Stigma system is a skill slot tree that allows the player to learn powerful abilities that are not learnt from books sold by scholars. The stones, from which you learn the Stigma skills, are dropped by the monsters polluting the world of Atreia. Of course, you cannot just equip the skill from the get go, you have to attach it to your tree via a Stigma specialist in the main city. (continue reading…)
Priest first levels

Tried out a new class today, playing the Priest, the healing class obviously. You start out with one offensive (Smite Lvl 1) and one healing spell, that can be both applied to self and allies. My first concern, given that I’d not played this class before, was whether it was going to possible to solo at all, but in actual fact, certainly at lower levels (played 1-6 so far), the Priest is perfectly capable of dealing out damage.
